MY HANDICAP
This is the "not so easy" page to write about. I'll be brief.
In May of 2002 I endured a six-hour surgery to remove a cancer tumor from my colon. I am grateful to the Ann Arbor Veteran's Hospital for saving my life.
However, as a result I am still here today to pass on the work of Viola Spolin and as I do so, I have to realize that I am only here due to a modern medical procedure known as a
Colostomy.
I am grateful to be the recipient of a modern miracle, but my workshop participants have to realize that from time to time, there are sounds that eminate from my tummy area and from time to time I must excuse myself to make corrections.
It's an adjustment in my life, but I consider it a blessing and it is all the more reason for me to do what I must.
My energy is a bit more limited, but I'm still here and able to mix things up just a bit.
Please tell your loved ones (and this is for YOU as well) to get a colonoscopy.
It's a life saver and the sooner you do it, the better.
